Viagra Professional

Viagra Professional is a new generation extra-strength prescription medicine that is taken orally for the treatment of erectile dysfunction only in men, powerfully activating the natural blood flow, followed by hardness and expansion of your sexually excited penis for peak sexual performance.

Viagra Professional may be used with or without food. As with many medications, you should take Viagra Professional about one hour before you plan to have sex. Viagra Professional can remain effective for up to 4 hours.

If you take Viagra Professional after a high fat meal (such as a cheeseburger and french fries), Viagra Professional may take a little longer to start working.

Do not take Viagra Professional more than once a day. Allow 24 hours to pass between doses.

Contact your doctor or seek emergency medical attention if your erection is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours. A prolonged erection (priapism) can damage the penis.

Stop using Viagra Professional and get emergency medical help if you have sudden vision loss.

Before you take Viagra Professional, tell your doctor about all your medical problems, including if you have:

• heart disease or heart rhythm problems;
• coronary artery disease;
• a recent history (in the past 6 months) of a heart attack, stroke, heart surgery, or life-threatening heart rhythm problem;
• congestive heart failure;
• high or low blood pressure;
• a bleeding disorder;
• a blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia;
• a stomach ulcer;
• retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye);
• a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease); or
• if you have been told you should not have sexual intercourse for health reasons.

Viagra Professional may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Important information

You should not take Viagra Professional if you are allergic to sildenafil, or:

• if you take other medicines to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, such as riociguat (Adempas).

To make sure Viagra Professional is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:

• heart disease or heart rhythm problems;
• a recent heart attack (within the past 90 days);
• a recent history (in the past 6 months) of a stroke;
• congestive heart failure;
• high or low blood pressure;
• pulmonary hypertension;
• a seizure;
• bleeding disorder;
• blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia;
• stomach ulcer;
• retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye);
• physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease); or
• if you have been told you should not have sexual intercourse for health reasons.

Taking Viagra Professional with certain other medicines can cause a sudden and serious decrease in blood pressure. Do not take Viagra Professional if you also use riociguat (Adempas), or a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. Nitrates include nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, and isosorbide mononitrate. Nitrates are also found in some recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate or nitrite ("poppers"). Taking Viagra Professional with a nitrate medicine can cause a sudden and serious decrease in blood pressure.

Some medicines can cause unwanted or dangerous effects when used with Viagra Professional. Your doctor may prescribe an alternate medication.

Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using, especially:

• drugs to treat high blood pressure or a prostate disorder;
• an antibiotic - clarithromycin, erythromycin, or rifampin;
• antifungal medicine - ketoconazole or itraconazole; or
• HIV/AIDS medicine - atazanavir, indinavir, ritonavir, or saquinavir.

Viagra Professional side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away. You could be having a serious side effect of Viagra Professional.

Stop using Viagra Professional and call your doctor at once if you have:

• sudden vision loss;
• ringing in your ears, or sudden hearing loss;
• chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;
• irregular heartbeat;
• swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet;
• shortness of breath;
• vision changes; or
• feeling light-headed, fainting.
