What is Levitra Extra Dosage?
Levitra Extra Dosage is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors), which are used to treat conditions such as pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Levitra Extra Dosage is available in three strengths: 40 mg, 60 mg, and 80 mg. The recommended starting dose is 40 mg. Levitra Extra Dosage may be taken with or without food. It should be taken about 60 minutes before sexual activity. If you take it with food, the effects may take longer to start. Levitra Extra Dosage can be taken with or without food.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Levitra Extra Dosage include:
- headache
- flushing
- stuffy or runny nose
- stomach upset
- back pain
Levitra Extra Dosage may also cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.
Precautions
Before taking Levitra Extra Dosage, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of:
- heart disease, angina, a history of heart attack, irregular heartbeats, or other heart problems
- high or low blood pressure
- a bleeding disorder such as hemophilia
- a blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia
- a history of blood disease such as leukemia or sickle cell anemia
- a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding
- a history of eye problems, including retinitis pigmentosa
- kidney disease
- liver disease
- stroke
- an unusual or allergic reaction to vardenafil, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
- pregnant or trying to get pregnant
- breast-feeding
If you have any of these conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take Levitra Extra Dosage.
Interactions
Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. - bosentan
- certain drugs for high blood pressure
- certain drugs for the treatment of HIV infection or AIDS
- certain drugs used for fungal or yeast infections, like fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, and voriconazole
- certain drugs used for seizures like carbamazepine, phenytoin, and phenobarbital
- grapefruit juice
- macrolide antibiotics like clarithromycin, erythromycin, troleandomycin
- medicines for prostate problems
- rifabutin, rifampin or rifapentine
- this medication
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other products that cause drowsiness including alcohol, antihistamines (such as cetirizine, diphenhydramine), drugs for sleep or anxiety (such as alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, and narcotic pain relievers (such as codeine).
Check the labels on all your medicines (such as allergy or cough-and-cold products) because they may contain ingredients that cause drowsiness. Ask your pharmacist about using those products safely.
Other precautions
Levitra Extra Dosage is not expected to be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.
It is not known whether vardenafil passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
