Levitra

Levitra is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Levitra belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase inhibitors. It works by relaxing muscles and increasing blood flow to certain areas of the body. Levitra is available in both brand-name and generic versions. Generic drugs usually cost less. In some cases, they may not be available in all strengths or forms as the brand-name version. Levitra may be used as needed or taken once daily. Levitra should be taken about 25-60 minutes before sexual activity. Levitra can be taken with or without food. Levitra may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away: headache flushing stuffy nose upset stomach diarrhea dizziness If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately: vision changes sudden decrease or loss of hearing irregular heartbeat swelling in hands, ankles, or feet shortness of breath chest pain seizure Levitra can cause serious side effects. If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment: vision changes or sudden vision loss ringing in your ears or sudden hearing loss chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling irregular heartbeat swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet shortness of breath seizure Levitra can decrease blood flow to the optic nerve of the eye, causing sudden vision loss. This has occurred in a small number of people, most of whom also had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or certain pre-existing eye problems, and in those who smoked or were over 50 years old. It is not known whether Levitra is the actual cause of vision loss. Stop taking Levitra and call your doctor immediately if you experience sudden vision loss. Levitra may cause rare but serious side effects on the heart, especially if you are taking certain other medications. Do not take Levitra if you are also using a nitrate drug for chest pain or heart problems. Stop taking Levitra and get emergency medical help if you have: heart attack symptoms - chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, nausea, sweating; sudden vision loss; or erection is painful or lasts longer than 4 hours (prolonged erection can damage the penis). Call your doctor at once if you have: ringing in your ears, or sudden hearing loss; swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet; shortness of breath; or a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out. Common Levitra side effects may include: headache; flushing (warmth, redness, or tingly feeling); stuffy nose; upset stomach; back pain; or muscle pain. This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
