Dramamine is an over the counter medication used to treat nausea and vomiting. The active ingredient in Dramamine is dimenhydrinate, which is an antihistamine. Dramamine is available in tablets, capsules, and liquid form. Dramamine is used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by Motion Sickness. Dramamine can also be used to treat vertigo (a condition where you feel like you are spinning or the room is spinning around you). Dramamine is also used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by certain medical procedures such as surgery, radiation therapy, or chemotherapy. Dramamine should not be used in children under the age of 2 years. Dramamine may interact with other medications such as anticholinergics, sedatives, or antidepressants. Tell your doctor all medications you are taking. Dramamine is not recommended for use during pregnancy. This medication can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby.
